Note: We are posting some REO properties here for a number of reasons, even though we are primarily and overwhelming an online mortgage comparison and referral site not a real estate listing service. First, a question often asked by consumer borrowers when we have found them competitive mortgage deals is where can I find a good deal on a home? With large numbers of REOs hitting the marketplace as a result of the current banking crisis deals are becoming easier to find. In the past just because a property was repossessed by a bank did not mean necessarily it was a good buy because of the large amount of competing bidders for such properties. A declining housing market and general financial crisis is leading to a significant rise of REOs in the marketplace and greater chances of getting a better deal on one. The second reason we are posting properties here is since we often deal with bankers (when helping consumers find reputable lenders) we occasionally from time to time run across interesting properties. Some of the listings here were brought to our attention by bankers or REO brokers that we have a relationship with, many we have run across on our own. We do not inspect the majority of properties ourselves, hence cannot say whether properties are priced right or not. We simply list them here because of the consumer interest expressed in distressed, handyman or REO properties in general.
